Texas Labor Market continues to expand in April with more than 42,000 jobs added

The Texas labor market once again set record-high levels for jobs, employed Texans, and the civilian labor force. April marks the 37th consecutive month of positive annual job growth. Texas’ seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment increased to 14,159,000 after 42,600 jobs were added over the month in April, reflecting growth in 46 of the last 48 months.

Passing Lane Project making safety and mobility improvements

US 385 project making $54.3 million in roadway enhancements The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin work next week on a $54.3 million project to add passing lanes to US 385 in Castro and Lamb counties. Alternating passing lanes will be constructed every two miles along the 37-mile corridor between the Deaf Smith County Line and US 70 in Lamb County.

Wildcats shock #6 Bushland, 7-4

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team’ shocked the Region on Friday, when they sent the 3A #6 Bushland Falcons home with a, 7-4, loss at Wilder Field in Plainview on Friday to claim the Class 3A Area Championship. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 15-10 overall on the year.

Area schools set to graduate over next two weeks

The Class of 2024 is set to graduate this weekend around the Region. Graduates of Littlefield, Springlake-Earth, Amherst will be walking the stage later this week and earning their high school diplomas. Sudan, Olton and Anton will be graduating next Friday, May 24th.
