Joycelyn M. Henry passed away on Oct. 20, 2020 at the age of 96. She was born on Sept. 30, 1924 to Henry a Maasen and Jullia Taylor Maasen.

Joycelyn proudly served her country as a U.S. Marine Corp Corporal from 1945 thru 1947. She was stationed in Washington D C. She married Hubert D. Henry on Dec. 21, 1948.

She and Hubert graduated from Texas Tech May 1949 earning Business Administration Degrees. They then moved to Littlefield. Joycelyn worked as a legal assistant for some years. She also worked at the Ford dealership in Littlefield.

She started her High School teaching career in the fall of 1967. She thoroughly enjoyed teaching Distributive Education for 20 years. She was also very active in the community of Littlefield volunteering for various activities, committees and charities. She was a longtime member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ.

Joycelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother H. A. Maasen (killed in action WWII), and husband, Hubert.

She is survived by daughter, Annette Cole and husband, Danny of Shallowater and granddaughters, Jullia Danielle Cole of San Antonio, TX., and Amanda Leigh Woodason and husband, Bryce of Roby, TX; and a host of cousins. A special Thank You to her caretaker, Laura McGill, who lovingly saw after her for the last year.

Graveside Services for Joycelyn Maasen Henry of Shallowater (formerly of Littlefield) was held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 26th at Resthaven Cemetery with Jim Harris officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Crescent Park Church of Christ Littlefield or Texas Home Health Hospice, or 12th Street Church of Christ Shallowater.
