Five Area Telephone Cooperative, Inc.; West Plains Telecommunications, Inc. provide scholarships to area students

Five Area Telephone and West Plains Telecommunications have awarded eight $2,000 scholarships to students continuing their education at an accredited vocational school, college or university. The Board of Directors of Five Area/West Plains selected the scholarship winners at the board meeting held on April 28, 2022. These scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who reside in one of the telephone exchanges served by our Companies. We wish all of our scholarship recipients the best in their future endeavors.

The scholarship recipients are:

Jaide Black is from Farwell High School. She is the daughter of Brittni and Clay Grant. Jaide plans to use her scholarship to study Pre-vet at West Texas A&M University.

Carlos Perea Jr., the son of Carlos and Rosalinda Perea, is from Lazbuddie High School. Carlos plans to use his scholarship to study Welding Technology at Texas State Technical College.

Muleshoe High School’s, Alina Elizarraraz, is the daughter of Susanna Gloria and Jojo Elizarraraz. Alina plans to pursue a career in Pediatric Nursing at West Texas A&M University.

Aaliyah Rey, from Muleshoe High School, is the daughter of Daniel Rey. Aaliyah plans to use her scholarship to study Fine Arts at Clovis Community College.

Springlake/ Earth High School’s, Sayler Beerwinkle, is the daughter of Sarah Weldon and Si Beerwinkle. Sayler plans to study Communications at Hardin-Simmons University.

Timothy Tanaro, from Springlake/Earth High School, is the son of Marlana and Trent Tanaro. Timothy plans on attending Navarro College to study Ag Mechanics and Ag Business.

Sudan High School’s, Antonio Limon, plans to use his scholarship to pursue a career in Pre-Medicine. Antonio will attend Texas Tech University. He is the son of Tony and Rosa Limon.

Gavin Rice is from Whiteface High School. He is the son of Lisa Timmons. Gavin plans to use his scholarship to study Welding at South Plains College.
